I might of spent as much as $650. (Camshaft, valve springs, pushrods, timing chain, crank bolt, timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, oil & coolant.)

I did it all myself. Already had all the tools needed.

P.S. No head gaskets are needed because you don't need to take the heads off.

depends what cam and what car.

The more agressive the cam the more extra bits you'll need. Springs, push rods, oil pump, head studs, gaskets and such.

TSP, Thunder Racing and similar will sell you a cam and install kit with all you need for a basic cam swap.

If it's just a stock cam or a LS6 cam then you may not need some of the other components.

don't rush to anything save money and get heads and cam at once, it will save you tuning cost.

You wont really need headstuds on any cam only car, when you do heads etc. its definately something to look into. I say cam cost (I believe comp grinds any cam for $380) + Springs ~$200, $40-$60 for gaskets, thats the bare minimum, then there is what 300bhp/ton said, it goes on and on.
