What state you from? It's probably different in every state but here in Ohio it takes 2 or 3 years, when this 6 month period is over on my insurance a speeding ticket will be coming off. A year or so for my other 2 tickets though.

23103(A)VC - Reckless Driving - is a misdemeanor and will most likely remain on your record for 7 years, Like a DUI arrest, **it could be the standard 3 years**. You receive 2 points on your record for this violation. (reference 12810 VC)

Points are assessed by DMV and/or your insurance company. I am from the Law Enforcement side so all I really know is the criminal aspect, check with DMV or your insurance company.

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have further questions.

mine went down f-all, at 25, I had been driving the TA under my own name for 3 yrs at that point. It DID go down 2-300 bucks, but not like 25% or anything that high, more like 10%....And Ive been getting cheap insurance since I started driving - I have NO CLAIMS EVER, and at that time never a ticket or charge. I hate insurance companies!...and my record is clean here our tix take 3 yrs, and anything else(collisions and formal charges ie dui) carries 6 yrs for ontario, cali or any other individual state probably have their own laws

Like a rock.

I was married before I was 25 (you get a pretty big drop for being married as well when you're under 25), but even with that the drop at 25 was still pretty big (about 25% for me). When I was 24 I still had my WS6, I was paying about $650/6 months for full coverage, then when I hit 25 it dropped to around $450/6 months with no other changes.

If you're single and turning 25, you might see an even bigger drop.

it all really depends on the insurance company. some go back 7, 5, or 3 years. im about to hit 23 but i have pretty low ins. cuz i havent had any incidents in over 3 years. not enough time on the road. being in the military helps alot too. then you can hit up companies that cater mostly to the military. its nice.

Actually the T/A has been sold. But here's what the details are on my current cars:

I'm over 25.
I'm married.
I have a clean record since 1998 (knocking on wood).
I live just a block away from a major city (Chicago).

I have State Farm.
I get multi-car, multi-line, and accident free discounts for all cars.

FULL coverage on all cars:

1998 Camaro Z28: $400/6 months
1996 Bonneville SE: $290/6 months
2002 Monte Carlo SS: $350/6 months
2004 Cavalier: $400/6 months

$1440/6 months (or $240 per month) for all 4 cars, full coverage.

Would be cheaper if I moved further away from Chicago.

Who was this directed at?

I think I was the only one to list prices in this thread so I'm guessing you meant me? If so I think you somehow misunderstood my post. I wasn't complaining at all, just giving my rates as an example. I'm pretty happy with what I pay for the cars I have. But it would be cheaper yet if I wasn't so close to a major city.

I expected the very sought-after drop in price when I turned 25, but it only went down $28 for the whole year! My record is/was spotless, not even any claims. I've got full coverage, always have, and my WS6 is even all paid off. I'm getting raped big time.

That does suck. What company? You should get some quotes from other providers.

I got AAA. Eveytime I get my monthly bill I get so pissed that I call around and get other quotes. EVERY other company I can think of comes within 20 to 30 bucks a year of my current insurance with the same coverage.

They all tell me the same thing, "Your car is very expensive to fix."
