Default Worth it??

I have a a4 99' with 103k on her. My question is should i get rid of my ride simply because i want a m6? My car has no problems with it at all, i keep all the fluids and everything in it. The car im lookin at does not have the ram air hood, but mine i dont think is really all that functional anyway since it is just a reg. t/a. What you guys think trade because its a stick or stay with an auto?

Tough decision, but obviously this can only be answered by you. Have you driven and fbody with an M6?

No i can never say I have. Everyone on here say an A4 can hands down be the best if you get the right **** for it, thats why i think i am leaning towards keepin my car. Again that clutch goes out thats like 1k down the drain so iono

I'll give you an opinion based on my personal experience. I had an A4 '93 LT1 Formula a couple years ago and it cannot compare with the fun factor my M6 LS1 Formula has. I honestly don't think an A4 car can ever compare to an M6 unless it's strictly a dragstrip car. I test drove an M6 SS when I had my '93 and well... you see the decision I made. I'd sell yours and never look back. They are a BLAST to drive.

Yeah, I'd do an m6 conversion with a built 6 speed. Notice noone wants to be a car with auto unless it's an amazing deal, leaving room for a conversion. M6 is fun as hell, would not have it any other way. Clutch should last a while, provided you know how to drive. I'd be more worried about the rear end

What do you mean by best? What are your plans for this car?

Autos cost money to repair too.
So your looking at what will hold up better? Too many variables to attempt to answer that question. I agree with LS1Formulation- they're FUN to drive but my truck has an auto which I prefer to drive to work everyday.

This what im getting from here there fun i got that. And i will be driving this car everyday about 30 miles a day to and from work. Reason why i think there the best because iono off the line stock for stock my A4 takes the M6 in my town everytime. Thats reg. t/a's and 2 ss's but from a roll they get me like half a car so like i said iono which is better. Would I love a M6 hell yes!! but you guys really think it could be a great daily driver?

put a 3.73 gear in your auto.you will like it better.m6 cars suck in traffic.my 98 taa4 with a 3.73 gear is faster in a drag race than my sisters 00 ws6 m6 ta.with the auto you dont have to worry about busting **** evrey time you go to the track.there is also no missing gears in an a4.m6 cars are really hard to launch as well.if you want more acceleration install a converter or a lower gear.just my opinion

around here going rate is about 200$ but not every mechanic will do this.I done mine myself.go with a new gear when doing this.a gear is from 130 t0 200 depending on brand.you will also need an instalation kit as weell usualy around 100$ youn can send your ecu to somone to reprogram it for the gear.another 75$you should be able to do it all for around 600$.most people will tell you to just do a 12bolt or 9",but unless you plan on running 11s the stock 10 bolt will work fine.

Id say stay with your current ride, M6 is fun as hell, but i wouldn't put up with ANY manual car in city traffic(guess it depends on how traffic is near you, if it wasnt stop and go, I would be all for M6 all the time!). The other thing being that the car you currently own you know is in good condition, you might end up pickin up an M6 with more milage......and maybe more problems. At the end of the day it really boils down to what you want and what suits your day to day commute.....and in a far off distant thinking....your budget

Why not do both. I had a manual 5 speed stang and it was fun but to miss a shift at the track or when showing off for your buds or girl. It's even worse to have it puke parts all over the road or track.

Well, I'm not going to go with the safe answer and leave it up to you. We know that its your decision, duh . Now fact is M6 gives you alot more control over your car. You will get better gas miles (if you care for that). The clutch should not cost you more than repair and maint on the auto (for the most part). If you look on some pols on this site you'd see that most people go a good 70k miles on the stock clutch. It sounds to me like you know that you would have more fun rolling through the gears and manipulating the car in ways that you can only do in an M6!!! As for traffic? look at my location... Nobody drives through the traffic that I go through on my DD . When you get to break out of it (if only for a second) you'll love the instant torque on the STOCK M6 setup and tear it up like you want to. The auto is for 500+ HP or someone that has to share the car with their wife . The M6 is sooo much more fun to drive, and thats what this car is about. If you want something to chill in and relax as a DD get a minivan. Just look at this man ----> he is having FUN!
