Default Help- Surges in power

I need help and im to cheap to take my car to a shop...
Problems:
1 when starting the car will turn over but not start up right away- used to start up right away always
2 while driving in almost any gear the car will surge in the ammount of power im getting

i used one of the hand scanners to check the SES light and there was P0300 (random/multiple misfires) and P0100 (MAF or VAF circuit malfunction) the p0100 code may have been from when i was cleaning the air filter and forgot to hook up all the wires before starting the car, or possibly from to much oil on the filter...
i think it could be the fuel pressure regulator or something to do with the ignition system so any helpful info would rock

Sounds like too much oil. Some might have gotten on the MAF.
