My SS has 62,000 miles on it. It's my DD/sometimes i take it the the dragstrip maybe 2 times a month. on my old Lt1 the oil preassure stayed next to nothing until you gave it gas. Well I just changed the oil in my LS1 and I used 5w-30 oil with a k&n oil filter and put exactly 5.5 Quarts of oil in it. After the motor warms up. The oil preassure will drop down to around 30psi when idle but goes up fine when i give it gas. There is no knocking or anything. I thought this is kinda low for a LS1 but wasnt sure. When you get on the throttle it the psi gets up there so I dont think it would be the oil pump. Just wanted to get some opinions to see if anyone elses stays that low...and I was told i shouldnt worry unless it gets down to the 20 mark...is this true?
