I don't have a ws6 ( I have a 00 camaro) but i had to put the mass air flow directly into the lid, a bellow boot that was with the lid ( i bought everything used) goes onto the maf.... The lid I bought came off of a ws6 and he said it was hitting his ram air hood a little but was still ok.

My SLP Lid really doesn't fit well either. I know the overlap you're talking about, but the rubbing against my hood is what really bothers me. I have a grinded spot on my lid from where it hits that just flat out looks ugly. I think I just might get an MTI clear lid eventually, those things are sexy.

I see a trend of original ram air cars not having fitment issues.
I will see if I can get a shot of mine tomorrow. It is a non wS6 car and someone added ram air.

I had this same problem with I bought my slp lid until someone told me the "secret." On slp lids the front tucks on the "inside" of the lower box, instead of the outside as you were used to with the stock lid. As for the rubbing on the top where the neck goes to the maf-This is common, and it's nothing to worry about.

If you have the smooth bollows, make you you jam that sucker right upto the body of the throttle body.
If I remember correctly, there is a slot on the back of the lid's collar or the smooth bollw (I don't recall which piece its on and its 1am here) that fits onto the throttle body. It should fit nicely around a ridge on the throttle body opening... make sure that it lines up correctly and the bollow is ALL the way on the TB and it should fit much better.
As mentioned above, the front lip fits inside the lower air box instead of over lapping the top.
Hope this helps.

Mine was a bit of a pain to get the MAF sensor to fit into it but I think the smooth bellow was even harder to fit onto the MAF. Mine does stick up just a little in the back but fits pretty good other than that. No rubbing at all. Just work on getting the MAF in there as far as you can. Expect a good bit of adjusting to get everything to fit together correctly. Good luck! And a picture would be good for us to see also

I trimed 1/4 in. off the slp bellows, fits fine now.
I almost hucked it in the trash before I did that.
I also didn't clamp it to the t-body. it fits tight enough,
they seem to crack the lid if there too tight after a while.
worked for me anyways, good luck
