Default rev limiter

I have a completely stock 02 Z28 A4. The only thing I have done is cut the factory muffler off and welded in a dynomax bullet in place of it. I am not sure if this is normal but almost every time I get on it in first it will bump the rev limiter before shifting into second. Is this a something that is seen alot?

I can't believe you have not gotten an answer yet. I have a stick but I have not heard about this as a "common" problem. check fluids in the trans if they are good then something is wrong. It may or may not be a big deal.
Try reposting this question in the A4 section.

If you're bone stock and bumping the rev limiter on WOT upshifts, you're either low on fluid or your transmission is in trouble. Probably would be a good time to drop the pan for a fluid change and see if there's any signs of significant wear.

I have heard this problem before, and I think you can raise line pressure with a tune and it should fix it. Try a search in the tranny section.
