Default Good price to offer? 99 SS M6

I'm going to be looking at a 1999 Camaro SS M6. The car has 39k on it, as well as a clean carfax. The guy is asking 15,000 for it, which I refuse to pay for that car. I was wondering what a good offer would be? He said he's willing work on the price "a little." I looked around in the LSX for sale in here, and noticed that cars with slightly higher miles were going anywhere between 9-12.

I may just do that. I was thinking maybe a little more but hell, the car is a 99. That thing is coming up on 9 years old already.

FWIW, I picked up my 98 Z28 for 10900 from a dealer last year. It had 53K on it.

I'm waiting to hear back from the guy, I asked him a few questions about the car, SLP options, etc. I think he's pretty close to me so I can check out the car sometime this weekend. I just don't think he's going to want to budge on that 15k tag.

DAYUM! I just bought my 01 SS with 45k miles for $15k. M6 with all the bolt ons and a cam. The thing is a beauty and had all the mods I would have added myself. That guy is dreaming at that price tag.

I found an 01 Z28 M6 with 85k for 10,9 at a dealer. How's that as far as price goes?

Location has everything to do with it. There are a couple of dealers in the Seattle area asking 16,999 for their ss's with 50-70k miles.

with only 40k in good condition id say 12-13k would be acceptable. if you dont care about a low mileage car tho....i picked up my 99 with some mods 2 years ago for only $8500 with 70k on the clock. so there are some deals out there if you keep your eyes open

yea. Some people think that if they have mods on their car it will sell for more. I'm no expert by any means, but when I was looking for Camaro's if I saw one that was really built up i kept looking. I wanted my own project. 15k does sound expensive tho, unless if it's mint

If the car is clean, given the low mileage, and the fact it is an M6 SS car, I would say it is probably priced fairly accuratly at $15,000. You might be able to buy it for $14,000 or so, but anything less than that and you are really looking to steal the car away from the guy as it is worth that much.

Now, if you were talking 90,000+ miles, or a Z28, then yeah, he would be smoking crack thinking its worth that much.

If you are dead set on not spending that much, I reccomend setting your standards a little lower, as in looking for more miles, or a dinged up body, or maybe a Z28 instead of an SS. You can also keep looking but I doubt you find another low mileage SS M6 for much less than $14,000-$15,000.

13 to 14 sounds good but it all depends on the location.
I'd get a newer (01 to 02) with more miles and pay less than that. If you plan on doing a cam swap the heads and intake are a lot better on those years...

I got a message back from the guy, he wont take anything lower than 13.9ish. I'm not paying anywhere near there for a 99.

I'm looking for any 6spd LS1 really, no formulas though. There's absolutely nothing on the market right now. I looked at 2 cars yesterday, both had leaks. One was an 00 WS6, leaking from the passenger side head. The other was an 01 z28 leaking from the rack. Both were priced high too.

Dealers will always charge a hell of a lot more, usually 2500-3500 at least.
