This Q is killing me!
Okay suppose you are doing this set up:
TH400
4000 stall
1500rwhp
7000rpm fuel cut off
(rear end i am having trouble understanding)
255/50/16
You want to run a 7 or low 8 sec 1/4 mi at 170-180mph+
I put a 2.73 rear end in the Calculator and i really cant do that because i will need to rise the fuel cut off which cant happen.
How do guys get around this? because your low end power would be bad.
(Just something i have been thinking about lately)

1500rwhp and 255/50/16? You could run a 2.00:1 rear gear if they made them and 1500hp will still over power the tires. So 2.73 will still smoke those tires off the line so bad you'd have no worry of low end power.

You could run 175mph under 7000 rpm, but it will be close.
The whole point of having a 4000 rpm converter is to get your rpm up, low end should not be a concern unless 4000 rpm is too low.
So the short answer to this A high stall torque converter.
