Sure if you had it out it'd be easier than in, but completely unnecessary with the standard bolt ons, heads, and what not.

Its pretty easy to drop if you got a place to do it. If it has alot of miles I would do a standard rebuild. Forged Rods, Pistons, Crank, Bore and Stroke. Just kidding. I find when i have my motor out I do alot of stuff I hadn't planned to do. But seriously id put ARP rod bolts in. Just drop it. If nothing else it would be a learning experience. Good luck.

Yeah it would be easier but it isn't that much harder to do it with the motor in the car. For the extra effort you would spend doing the R & I on the motor you could have spent that time doing the actual mods.

with it out you can do all that, you can also install a lightened flywheel, new clutch, and clean up the engine bay while it is out....but like it has been said, unless you need the engine out for a bigger reason(ie replacing anything in the block)..i wouldn't recommend it

We did my H/C swap without dropping the engine with no problem.

Why add extra work? The only "difficult" bolts are the header bolts and the engine would have to be in place to attach them anyways.
