Grab firmly in right hand. Turn counter-clockwise.

Probably cross threaded. Need to use a dye and rechase the threads after you take it off.

Good excuse to buy a short stick. $20 from UMI performance -----------> Two torx head bolts hold it on.

Lol, the car had some gay *** **** that wasnt made for the shifter. It threaded on, but had a torx bit and another threaded area that was caught on the torx bit. I had to break the old **** to put the factory Hurst **** back on.

No, nothing bad will be done to the engine, the car is barely driven as is.

How is the $20 UMI Short throw shifter? I probably wont upgrade b/c Im leaving the car Factory stock for now!!!

From what I'm told, a short throw shifter is a must, even in a "factory stock" car.

the short stick changed my impression of the entire car. It's firm and i love the way it feels.
