Default Oil Change time!!

About to change the oil. Any recommendations on which one I should get that I can get at the local Autozone? I have 78000 miles. And I just drive and occasionally street race. Also, is that Valvoline Max life any good?

Mobile 1 extended performance or Amsoil is the only thing I use any of my vehicles. No reason to skimp on oil IMOP

Mobile 1 synthetic.

I have nothing to compare it too, though, so consider this a very biased opinion. It's been great so far though.

I use the valvoline max life too. The person that had it before me had a penzoil sticker on the windshield and i'm over a 100k already, I don't think synthetic would be a good idea at this point.

I used to use mobile 1 till they changed their formula a couple of years ago. I now use Royal Purple 10W40 and don't burn a drop, where with the mobile 1, I would go thru about a half a quart between oil changes.

I like the mobil 1 synthetic myself, although I would think castrol syntec and royal purple are still good. Royal Purple is just not as easy to find.

I use to use nothing but castrol syntech 0-30 or 5-30. now with the studies done w/ the Pennzoil Plat ive been using that (5-30). dont get me wrong i like castrol but my ls1 is quiter w/ the pennzoil. no mobil 1 for me. not a fan of watered down crap. but to each their own when it comes to oil.

I work at a construction company we have 250 chevys ranging from 1993 to present we use Gastrol syntec 5w 30 the cars and trucks that are from 2000 model and above some have over 200k on them and the engines are spotless inside. Even the older modle's used regular oil then were switch over to syntec we have had no problems and alot of them have over 300k with no engine problems. So whatever you use stay with that brand in my opion
