Can I do this?

Alright I do not know anything about cam's but I have a DD 01 T/A WS.6 with flowmaster catback with a 3 inch cutout. I like the sound but I want it loud when it is idle as well. Can I just get a cam to put on my car and will this make it louder? Thanks to whoever helps me out and suck it to those that tell me to do a search.

a cam wouldnt make it louder, just lopey.

If you want louder, get some long tube headers and an ORY.

Lopey idle. Also, a cam swap isn't meant for enhancing exhaust notes, it's intended for engine performance...

^^^^very true, the lopey idle is just a bonus treat!

(myk love your sig, goes great with the writing)

Yeah, some long tubes and no cats would make it louder at idle even.

stangkiller2005 01-24-2008 01:32 AM

get a cam, long tubes, off road ypipe, and you will like how loud it is

You make it seem simple to get all of that. I don't even know where to start and how much it will cost

$300 + shipping if you're fine with black. Add another $100 if you want armor coating.

ORY:

$137.99 + $7.99 for shipping

Totals to less that what a cam, cam install, and tune would run you.

Anyone have these mods?

1FST-Z 01-26-2008 12:12 AM

Yeah dude, it's the most popular set of mods to start out with besides a lid. I've got 'em...they're just all sitting in my hatch for a little while :D

jp74 01-26-2008 05:01 AM

Yes, and I might get bashed for saying this but it is too loud in my opinion.
I only uncap the cutout at the track. If not I:hijack: can't hear my wife in the passengers seat. Maybe that is a good thing.

Believe us when we say longtubes and off road y-pipe is loud. Throw a loudmouth catback on it and your there. I'm with jp74 with the noise though. It does get old after awhile. Just my opinion though.
