The only way you're gonna see 11's for $1200 is if you spend it on a 150 shot of nitrous. And under that power the transmission should go out long before the rearend does.

But honestly I would spend $1200 on exhaust. LT headers and a catback would do wonders for your sound and performance. Plus you can run solid 12's without too much worry about the tranny or rearend. Then when more money opens up you can look at a bigger stall, cams, n20, ect.

Good luck.

If your budget is only $1200, I would get a decent nitrous kit, and some sticky tires. That should put you in the 11's for the $1200.

I would definitely not think about 11's with only 1200 and expect the transmission and rear end to last for a while, but if you do, you really want to hit 11's I would have to agree with Call911.

I would ask some of the guys down in the 11 second club and look at thier mods and see what the cheapest way to do it is. The only way I see possible of $1200 is buying some big sticky rubber and a 150shot and hope your rear holds. Your more realistically looking at mid 12's with this though

I've seen guys run 11.8's-11.9's in the 1/8 mile with a 3500-4000 stall, lid, longtubes, cutout, 3.42/3.73 gears, ET Streets, and tuning. Stock 10-bolt too (but you might not be so lucky) It's all in the 60 ft.

you might be able to find some used longtubes for $400-$500, and a used Yank/Vig for $500 in the classifieds. Installation and tuning might put you over-budget though....are you installing yourself?

i hit 11.6s-11.8s @118mph and 7.4s @93mph in FL, @ sea level, id say i had the minimum.

stock motor, slp long tubes, slp catback, slp lid, stock rear 3.42, ls6 intake, i made 349rwhp n/a and 449rwhp on nitrous, 125 shot. i ran 26.5in ET street slicks 10.5 wide. also i tuned my tranny with hp tuners, it ended up holding 575 rwhp and 618 rwtq for over a year. when i upgraded to 3.73 rear with a t/a cover, big cam and cleaned up stock heads, also a 3400 midwest converter. never ran the 1/4 but went 6.9-7.1s at 101mph in the 1/8 with that setup.

$1200...if only it was that easy
to get a cam with supporting mods(springs, valves, ported oil pump, etc.)
would cost about $1500, and thats not including all supporting mods
(headers, exhaust, underdrive pulley), and after all this you would need
traction(LCA's, torque arm, blah blah) and then a better stall, and then sticky
tires, then the rear end, then blah blah blah.....to get into 11's is not that
cheap. i would agree with the other guys, sticky's and 150 shot,
but i would say low 12's at best with $1200 to spend
jus buy the basic bolt ons first, it'll pay off in the end

I have ran an 11.71 @117 launching it easy. I have 3:73's, 3200 stall and a 100 shot. Your obviously going to have to spray that thing. You could buy a kit and some longtubes (depending on what brand of each you get) and if did the installs yourself you might have enough left to get some tires. Then you should be into the 11's no problem.

spray or long tube headers n tune tires ur gonna have to spend more money n u really need a shift kit n that tranny with a cooler bc that stall will tear that tranny up over a period of time with no shift kit

wow this thread shouldnt even be in the newb section well because everybody answering this question is a newb.

First of all i wouldnt be so worried about your tranny nor rearend its a hit and miss thing. I have gone 1.46 on stock rearend as well as have 300 passes on my bonestock tranny shifting at 6900 rpm's for over 200 of those passes.

it is very possible to do it for around 1200 bucks if you do installs yourself as well as tune or have a hook up on a tune.

first of all get tires.... 350 or so brand new or can find used sets for around 200
second change out your 2700 stall sell for around 300 pick up new 3500-3800 stall for 600........ so 300 bucks overall
Get some longtubes and ORY.... 500 brand new or can prolly get longtubes and y for 400
go to local exhasut shop and get a cutout installed..... 40-60 bucks

then if your relentless completely strip the car for weight and you could go 11's with great weather...

and if not grab a 100 shot for around 500 bucks and you will be in the 11's for sure.

you dont need suspension in an auto with a good tire.....
dont need a shift kit if your tuner is good
and you can do a cam swap for around 800 bucks if your good

good luck!
