I am new to LS1 cars and I was wondering what is the difference (if any) between the Whisper Lid CAI vs. the SLP CAI.

I had a whisper lid for a while. It never wanted to stay clipped shut. It kept popping loose. It seemed to work well other than that. I would go with the SLP if I had to do it again though.

SLP lid has great fitment in all of the cars I've seen it on. Mostly, a lid is a lid is a lid.

I would get a SLP lid and a Fast Toys Ram Air Kit

I have the Fast Toys ram air kit with Whisper lid on my 02 Formula and it works great; I'm very happy with it. You can hear the intake now and there's a slight "seat of the pants" difference.

If you don't want the Fast Toys ram air kit, you can always do the "free ram air" mod, directions are available at installuniversity.com and probably around here, too.
