I was looking to get a Magnaflow catback for my Z and I was just wondering if a tune is needed after installing the new catback? And also, do they need to be welded? I know some systems are just bolt-ons.

Sorry for sounding so newbish, but I just want to make sure before I make this purchase.

No you dont need a tune or they don't have to be welded in, most ppl bolt them on so it's easier for you to can change them later and then sale them.

I wouldn't bother for a tune unless you want a baseline run and see how much hp it has added

I love my magnaflow CB and the only thing thats welded is the tips..

No tune or welding required. Enjoy the Magnaflow. One of the better sounding exhausts for an LS1 and the quality is excellent for the price.
