Default 4l80E Stock?

This might be a dumb question, but did the 4l80 come stock in camaros? When i bought my 00 SS A4 back in october, the salesman made a huge point over how the car had the 4l80 trans instead of the 4l60. He said he did a carfax over it. I knew then about both and thought it only came in bigger trucks. I've never done any tranny maintenance yet so i havn't had a good look at it. I searched and couldn't find anything on this, but anyone know? Thanks!

Oh **** me that's what i thought. I even told him that i had never heard of a 4l80 stock, and he kept saying "o no this one does, i guarantee it". O well i got a perfect, pampered, and loaded 00 SS with 70,000 for $8,500, and it was owned by a GM shop manager so i'm not complaining.

I don't really think so. I never thought it had the 4l80, but never really checked into it till now. And i didn't jump on the car just cause he said it had a 4l80. But ya he was a real toolbag.
