2002 SS newbie, Austin TX
Hey ls1tech,
Im pat and im new on the forum. I used to have a 2002 mustang gt, 2004 dodge ram rumble bee, 2004 sti, now a 2002 camaro ss 35th anniversary. I just took the camaro home today, and am trying to learn all I can. So far I can say this is my favorite sports car yet, and I dont think I'll be trading it up any time soon.
I have already started to mod (sorta), purchased an MTI carbon fiber lid on ebay just now b/c I read on the search that it's the best lid for 1/4 mile performance.
Sorry about the pics, the car still had not been washed yet....
Look forward to chatting with ya'll more!

Hey thanks everyone,
When I owned my STi i stocked up on alot of german castrol 0W-30 b/c that was all the hype amoung those owners.
I am hoping the SS will like it just as much, gonna switch it out tommorrow....
Should I service my transmission fluid too? being 50K miles or so...
I LOVE THIS CAR

Not to be a dick but I hope they didn't try to fool you into thinking that is actually a 35th anniversary SS. I mean not that there is actually a huge difference in performance of any kind, but if you are trying to get it as a collectors item then there is something to be said. Here is one for reference. (They ALL look like this)
Unless of course you are simply refering to the fact that the model year is the 35th, then technically all 02's are. But since you are a self proclaimed NooB, i just wanna make sure you know what's going down and you didn't get taken for a sucker.
And if that's not the case then, nice ride and good choice. Welcome.

Well the modding has begun , installed my MTI lid today with my K&N filter... at first I couldnt get one of the clips on the lid to stay shut, but it eventually worked itself out.
No, no one tricked me into thinking that, Just a NooB here.
I guess I just thought mine was a 35th anniversary because the dash plaque said "35th anniversary chevrolet camaro" and in my owners manual says "35 years" on it. I really dont care either way, since like you said there is no performance difference. No matter what it is, im never selling it. This baby is mine
