Default Air breather question

What is it used for?? Does it give you any power gain?

Does the air breather replace the skinny tube running from the side of the lid?

I would do a search, lots of info about it on here. Breathers go on the valve covers, but you'd have to re-do all your pcv lines. There is a method to the madness.

I think you are referring to the AIR system. Yes, most aftermarket lids do not have the connection for the AIR hose and people just put small air filters on the hose instead of getting filtered air from the lid.

Agreed, I put the breather on when i put my lid on. When the exhaust went on the AIR and cats had to go. I get better gas mileage now.
