Should i get it (trans am ws6)?

I have found a bone stock 01 black ws6 trans am 6-speed that a guy is selling for 13500 and the car has 98000 miles on it. Do you think that this is a good deal with that many miles?

MjMaro 05-06-2008 10:14 AM

Seems a little steep to me but I'm a camaro guy, I know the WS6's go for more than te typical f-bod. To put it into perspective I got my Z28 with 53k for 12.5k, so to me it seems a little steep. However, if the car is in REALLY good shape and its EXACTLY what you want, then it may be worth it, happy hunting!

Do you think that this is too many miles on this car?

I would look around more.....it's too much IMO $10,000 would be the most i'd pay.

98k is not much if he has all the papers and stuff you should be fine but make sure its a real ws-6 get the vin and call slp they can tell you.

SlayerMaro 05-06-2008 10:49 AM

I wouldn't pay that much.

I wouldn't pay that much I would probably pay no more than 10k but I was just wondering if the high mileage is ok on an ls1?

If not beat on the ls1 is just now broken in  ... How the car was treated is what I look at more than the miles..I bought my first ws6 (now gone:bang:) with 95K and put a stall/cam blah blah blah in at 105k it ran perfect and was quite fast. So yes the miles should be ok

it seems too much to pay to me. i paid $9500 for mine with 53k on the clock. Bone stock minus borla catback

Mikes96z 05-06-2008 03:01 PM

I paid 10k for my '00 SS. 1 owner with all the orig paper work and window sticker!. Bonestock all the way to the paper filter.

zuuhlsT/A 05-06-2008 03:23 PM

Way too much. The car would have to be spotless for me to even offer $9500:nod:

TXws6 05-06-2008 03:27 PM

^ agreed! Id say 10k is fair

BlkBird2000 05-06-2008 04:16 PM

I got my 01 with 35k miles on it for 14,200. Had a few bolt ons. Not sure if stock is worth more or not. But I would keep looking or talk him down to at least 12k.

LS1 engine's are extremely reliable if properly maintained.....I tell alot of people about my friends 98 Z28 with a lil over 400,000 original miles and is totally bone stock. It runs like Forrust Gump and still puts down good power. He hasn't had any problems whatsoever with it breaking down. It does have some leaks but what F-body doesn't??
