y pipe rubbing on frame

jet hot lt's with hooker y pipe. anyone else have a problem with the y pipe rubbing? how do you fix it? I dunno if i can get it any lower than it already is...?

its touching the frame all the time or hitting it under load?

touching all the time means you need to have it fixed by a shop...maybe notch it for clearance.

hitting under load needs poly motor mounts or the mufflex bracket that i think Thunder sells.

Somewhat common with larger ypipes. Mufflex makes a bracket to fix it.

i got a big impact socket and hit on the side of the socket where mine was rubbing and made a nice bend and 3 years now hasnt hit once! Hell my firend that got some kooks LT and y-pipe we had to beat the hell out of it for his to clear.

yeah the hooker y pipe that they make now has the indents in it already. it was rubbing under a load. poly motor mounts are already in :D i ended up loosening all the clamps and pounding it back so i could work with it then i stuck pry bar in the groove on th flange and pounded it so it would turn. stuck pry bar between car and pipe pulled down tightened clamps now i got like a half inch of clearance! seems to work great now. hope i don't scrape anywhere since its lowered 1.2 inches lol
