Tapping noise in the motor?

Tapping noise in the motor?
So here recently I started hearing a tapping noise in my motor
My first thought was a lifter tapping, but doesnt that sound go away after 20-40 seconds after the oil has worked its way there? Well the tapping noise I have goes on all the way to operating temp, and quiets down, but is still there from 500-1500 rpms. Anything higher than that it disappears. If it is a lifter should I worry about the tapping noise, should I replace them? Also if I run a thicker oil could that help with the noise? I run Royal Purple full synthetic 5w-30, and Lucas Full synthetic additive.
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with their LS1, and any ideas of what it is, or what can fix it.

I noticed it in my 2002 at 25,000 miles, right after I did the first oil change (I bought it at 22,500). The dealer replaced the belts, idler, tensioner pullies, then replaced the lifters. It never stopped, then they told me it was normal.
It has 49,000 on it now and the noise never changed since day one, it's been run hard a few times too.
I just got a 2001 with 81,000 on it and it makes a similiar noise.

Yeah, I've been worried about running my car hard at all, even going to aviod taking it to the strip for the first time this summer becuase I'm worried that I'll mess the motor up. I dont give it any heavy exceleration, or get above 60mph most the time. Just been babying it.

I have a similar question. I have no idea why but it there is a tapping sound coming from around my intake i think. Is it normal. A friend told me i should put some Lucas Oil additive in and it would take the problem out. My car has been sitting awhile if that makes any difference. Tell me what you think. Email me back at kvcj2005@gmail.com if you can. thanks.

I worried about it until I went to a dyno day and every LSx car there did it, mine does it every day upon warm up and my first acceleration or two, then it goes away, scares the crap out of me because it sounds exactly like lower end bearings, but my oil pressure is always up and the sound goes away, to sum it up, thats normal, now if you have low oil pressure thats a different story.
