Default Can I get your opinion?

As you can see, I own a TT 350z. I've always loved the 98+ WS6's and have seriously been thinking about switching up. I already have 13k+ in the motor of my Z and would be taking a HUGE loss in $ to sell it. But dealing w/ the constant thought that my **** might blow is getting old. I have the money to build the motor, but that doesn't seem to much more reliable for the VQ.

I was wondering, from the people who have built theirs, how reliable the LS1 is modded under 600hp. And if I do decide to get one, would I be better off getting a T/A or a WS6. My goals for either car are mid 500's hp & tq.

i've got a buddy that had been pushing around 550hp for about 3 or 4 years now in his ls1. bout 50,000 miles with that power too and has had no motor problems yet.

there are a few people around here that are daily driven (hard) with nearly 600 hp and have had NO issues. they race all night on fridays and saturdays at the local spot. i would definitely not keep the 10 bolt if you plan on racing at all though.

you can make this power without forced induction on the stock bottom end safely

as far as ws6 or base TA thats completely your call. There is very little to no difference performance wise. the biggest difference is the price, appearance and respect. the ws6 will always be worth more, comes with the ram-air hood, 17" wheels and a little better suspension. people that don't know anything about these cars wil always ask is that a ws6? and if you say no you'll get an oh...

i planned on getting after market wheels, hood , suspension and putting on ALOT of miles so i bought the regular TA and saved some dough. i've beaten and lost to stock ws6's so it's really a drivers race

never been a fan of ricers but i would drive that one. sounds like a fun car.
yeah your going to take a big hit selling a heavily modded car so why not keep it.
T\As are fairly cheap these days unless you want a super low mile like new garage queen.

13k in your motor and your pushing 416rwhp?? You've already fucked yourself.

If I was you I would part out what you can to take it back to stock. If you don't want the hassle you will lose some money.

Yep like blkbird2000 said. hopefully you kept all your stock parts and you can bring your Z back to stock form and sell all your aftermarket stuff. you have no idea how much you can do with an LS1 with 13 grand!!! and still have fun with it and be dependable.

The motor is the same, the WS6 will carry a premium price, so if you gotta have one thats up to you. Difference is the hood and badges. Also there are Trans Am WS6 cars and Formula WS6s, they both have the same hood but the formula is like the v6 body style so its kinda sleeper-ish i guess.

Yep, making big hp in a v6 isn't easy. I've been looking for blk T/A's w/ a 6spd. Not easy to come by.

the cheapest way to reach your goal is to do boltons and then just spray it, then you have the power if you need it but still are as reliable as stock

Interior isn't as nice and handles a little different. Torque arm vs independent rear 2 seater. However I would not trade my fbody for anything. Hell with about 3-4 grand you can have a 400-450 rwhp hotrod N/A.
