Clearly I need to replace my cracked hood but besides that what modifications could I do just starting out? What tool set do you think I should get. I don't mind getting husky or Kolbalt.
Here are current mods..
Thunder Racing 224/224 cam
Comp 918 springs
Thunder push rods
ASP pulley
SLP longtube headers
off-road Y-pipe
3.5" driveshaft
Moser 12 bolt w/4.10's
Basic tune by Next Level Performance/Norris Motorsports

+1, but you need the tools to do it yourself, just buy a decent amount of tools to start with, then when you need a special tool just buy it. I do just about all my work with a cheap tool chest you can buy a lowe's.

Sorry I have a lid and a MAF power in a box, which from my understanding does nothing at all.
I was thinking about getting this set.

Seems like a pretty decent set--honestly I think most of the repairs I've done are just using a simple 3/8 drive ratchet, metric sockets, and a set of ratchet-wrenches

So you decided to keep the car? If you need a set of tools, head to a sears and pick up one of their craftsman tool box kits. I got one of the kits with like 200 pieces. I would recommend adding a torque wrench and one of those universal swivels for a ratchet. Thats basically what I have and I have never run into any problems. If your doing headers, buy a 10mm ratcheting wrench.
Edit: I am not sure what piece I have. Mine came with a a little sturdy plastic 4 draw tool box. I noticed that set does not come with extensions. I would defiantly get some extensions.

DO NOT GET THE 55-IX PLUGS. I am just about done with my H/C/I/E swap and was running those plugs. There was alot of build up on my pistons from the plug being to cold (I think). Get the 55's!

It seems you have quite a few mods on it already, might start thinking about a clutch, and shifter, if it's an M6, or a converter if it's an A4 (if you don't already have those)
As for tools, buy the best you can afford, the Craftsman Pro series of wrenches are a good start (I find on the regular craftsman wrenches the heads are too thick to get into some of the tight spaces)then collect the sockets and ratchets, both metric and standard, and a 10 mm gear wrench is almost a mandatory tool for working on these cars.
Don't forget a good floor jack, and a set of 3 ton (or better) stands for when you get under the car
