Lifespan of tint?
Hi,
I'm considering having my windows tinted, but I want them to always look perfect. Will even a perfect window tint look rough and bubbled, in say 10 years and need redoing, or will a good tint job always look good if it's not damaged?

I had window tint on my truck for 6 years...and it was fine... I think it could make 4 more years... (but I sold the truck)
Unless you plan on having your car for the next 10 years, I wouldn't worry about it..

Depends how much sitting in the sun its gonna be doing. If its gonna be under the scorching hot sun day in and day out rather than sitting in a garage, may take a lil bit of life off but you still should be fine for many yers.

Thanks for all your replys
Yes, I hope I do, and being the rear window I read it's a biatch to remove and redo, so want to get it right first time.
Yes, but I plan on moving countries soon, so it will be difficult.
Never herd of this before, could you elaborate please???
Hopefully when we move it'll be in a garage in a temperate climate, which should help it's lifespan I guess.
Thanks for all the info guys, I never had experience with tinted windows before, so I'm learning about them as I go. (Of coures, I'll get a pro to do them for me).

Just have it done somewhere with a lifetime guarantee most places offer it anyway.
if you get the spray on tint it will last a long time.

Well to me, $250+, -, for around 8 years of tint, protection for my interior from UV radiation, and cracking, and the looks, and benefits of tint is definitely worth it, if it needs to be replaced in 8 years, no sweat. I wouldn't exactly rule out tinting all together because you're scared it'll fade and crack nearly a decade down the road. Do it, protect it, be happy with it

Lets say your tint only lasts you 5 years and it costs you 250 bucks to do, which it shouldn't. Anyhow you only need to put away $50 a year thats $4.17 a month. Don't eat fast food once a month and there you have your tint money in five years. Just do it and don't look back. I just got mine done and absolutely love it!!!

Hmmm,
I think I've been persuaded.
I like it, not only do I get my window tint for free, but I cut the cars weight to boot!
8-10 years is a long time, I might not even have the car then, and you only live once eh ?

$250 for tint? Damn.
It cost me under $100 to do it myself.
The problem with doing it yourself is getting the right tint.
The local autoparts store has it all in boxes that can be opened and swapped out. You can take the $18 tint and put it in the $5 box. My friends truck had a problem like that, he got all the same tint and it ended up different shades per box.
If you shop around and find the good tint in a sealed box and put it on right it'll last forever, it just fades so slow you'll never notice.
