I have a similar question about exhausts, but in a different contrast. Which brands offer the quietest exhausts, while adding the same performance?

trust your own ears. get what YOU like because you will be the one driving it all the time listening to it. TO EACH HIS OWN. remember that.

If you're keeping your stock manifolds and stock Y-pipe, then I'd go with one of the louder catbacks. Borla and GMMG sound awesome if the rest of the exhaust is stock.

I do like the way the GMMG sounds but will the sound be affected by highflow cats at all?? If so how?

GMMG does sound good with cats, but once you go LTs and O/R Y it get's very raspy. I would get a catback that you can grow into instead of having to later buy another catback because your old one is too loud....IMHO

Before getting my longtubes, I just ran it with the muffler hacked off. For the price of a sawsall blade and a little hacking, you can't beat it. I'd recommend trying it before spending any money on a catback. If you like it, it's free. Hate it? It's free. Here's a clip of how a neutered LS1 sounds.

[Disclaimer] I had nothing to do with the retarded-*** laugh

I'm running a Sweet Thunder resonator with the longtubes and I like it. It's not too loud unless you hammer it, then it. I like how it sounds smooth and doesn't rasp at all. I'll have to get a clip of that this weekend.
