You couldn't pay me to put shorty headers on an LS1. Long tubes are the only way to go. What are your present plans, and future plans for the car?

Save your money and get longtubes. Shorties will do little to nothing for you.

stay away from the shorties x100. Get yourself a set of pacesetters or hooker. An Electric cutout is nice also. Asides from that I would save for appearance or suspension mods or you can go for the power mods first by saving for a cam.

Go with some pacesetter long tubes if you are going to do headers.

not necessarily, if you have a welder or a friend that can modify it to fit you can keep what you have. as long as its nice and is at least 3"

I would just get a custom 3" one made at an exhaust shop, if you decide to do long tubes.

What if someone paid you enough to put on longtubes?

get the Ls1Tech.com sticker mod...

not only will it give you like 50hp, but it automatically entitles you to post smartass remarks to simple questions people seek advise on, and it also enhances that 'certain part' of the male body...

ok, maybe not the latter, but definately the the first two mentioned...

joking aside, get an U/D pulley since it fits within your budget. or if you can save up another $100, get the car professionally tuned if it has not been already. good luck...

I typically hit 2.1 60 foots at the track with my bolt ons. I can't hook up worth a damn and have a best of 13.0 @ 108. Although I don't mind since my 10 bolt loves wheel hop and spin.

I would rather have a more enjoyable driving experience though since I don't hit the track that often, so I didn't invest in suspension/tires.

My point is that if you want to get in the 12's+ over anything else, invest in some suspension/tires but maybe plan on a new rear-end ;P
