Default Keep the stock SLP LID or switch to TSP?

Ive been reading a lot on here and seems TSP is a popular choice.. and it looks great too.

Just like it says.. should I keep the SLP LID that came with the car or order a TSP one?

TSP claims more power and 1/4m mph... and they way everyone talks about them Im thinkin I can believe it.

What would you do?

Is the stock lid on a WS6 or an SS different than the one on a regular LS1? Or is the actual airbox different?

I don't get my WS6 for 22 more days....so please excuse my ignorance.

The stock lid is the same on the WS6 as the regular T/A. SLP offered their lid on the FireHawk as an option in 02. I don't think SLP offered their lid on the SS but I'm not sure.

The lower airbox is different on WS6, not the lid.

The lower airbox from WS6 will fit on T/A or FireHawk. It looks nice but probably isn't worth much hp.

Assuming your car is similar to another 2000 WS6 I worked on, you lid will be identical to the stock one that came on my Z28. Some 02' Cars had a 345 HP option and come w/ an SLP lid w/o silncers. A friend of mine has a such a car - an 02' SS. I believe this lid was also on Firehawks. HTH

Some of the early 02 FireHawks didn't get the SLP lid.

Didn't know the SS also got the lid in some cases.

After reading about these Ill probably keep my stock SLP LID.

Ive noticed that some people mention the SLP and Blackwing filter being different.

Mine says both SLP and Blackwing on it.

Early 2002 Firehawks didn't get the lid, but the rest did. 2002 SS's could get the lid as an option.

he has a "SLP blackwing" lid. (the same one i run)

I ran this one, back to back to my aftermarket SLP one, no noticable difference.

The TSP might make a little more power, but imho, the SLP/Blackwing lid, for looks is the best..

You might squeeze a few more hp with the other lid, but i woudl do other mods first.

Ryan.
