Curious!!! whats the purpose of pulling 16* timing out..

Default Curious!!! whats the purpose of pulling 16* timing out..

i know its not to spray a 800 shot on a f-body but why would this be done because i was told that. i just wasnt told the reason , is it some type of way to be safer with the nitrous, r something i dont know..looking for answers from anyone especially nitrous GURU's

That is alot of timing to pull out but may be to soffen the hit to get up on the tire some . I would like to see what the timing table looks like. what ignition are they running . Also can help on backfire issues with different cams. Post any things you know of the car you are talking of.....

We pull 20* or so for 2 kits.

I pull 16* for both stages that total 225hp combined on 93 octane. 31* on motor, 15* on the juice.

yes nathan u r a lucky ******. lol maybe this year i will spray a 200. i cant believe your car is still staying togeather, u spray the **** out of that thing. but runs damn good.

There was a small discussion about it a few months back. https://ls1tech.com/forums/nitrous-o...rd-timing.html It all boils down to cylinder pressures and detonation. By retarding the timing your re-positioning your peak cylinder pressures from occurring too early in the cycle.
