Default 306 cam+150 shot require more than 93 octane? Also when using racing fuel...?

I read on one of these threads someone asking if going over 150 shot on 93 octane(w/ timing pulled of course)was a bad idea. There were some mixed answers. Would it be a bad idea for me to even do 150 shot on 93 octane since I already have a 306 cam with LE1 heads?

Also when I go to the track if I use 110 octane racing fuel is retarding the timing necessary on 150-175 shot, cause wouldn't I yield better rwhp without the retarding? Thanks for any help.

150 on 93 ocatain will be ok with a stock compression motor. Now if your motor has higher compression it will change the fuel requirement on Nitrous just like it would N/A.

Running a higher grade fuel is not a replacement for the need of timming pullled.

I thought you could pull less timing due to the fact racing fuel burns slower, is harder to self ignite and doesn't detonate as easily. Or is this wrong?

I understand what your saying and I thought it made sense too but I was told the same thing. Pull the timing back as if you were running straight 93. Some of the guys from this site helped me out by having me lean it out and pulling more timing. I trust certain people here and do as they say. I imagine you would (as I would) benefit by reading your plugs. In a few weeks (better air) will be doing just that as I've picked up some extra BR7's. It's time for me to either learn to read plugs or stop trying to lean on the motor more and more.

Reading plugs is something everyone spraying a car should know how to do BEFORE they spray it. Ive been reading my dads on his camaro before I ever thought of putting the sauce on my bucket. Then again his are way easier to get out than mine are too lol.
