LQ9 317s good for spray??
Well I might be getting a low mileage LQ9 motor with the 317s for a good deal. The motor is 10.75 comp ratio as far as I know. My car now has a stock headed, bottom end 5.7 which I believe has a bad main or rod bearing. My question is how well will this motor perform on the current 150 hit that Ive got. I will also be switching out the cam too. Just wanted some insight on the subject as it seems alot of people use these heads for FI setups

Those heads work fine. They are basically the same castings as the patriot heads just not ported or cnc machined. I would put new springs in 650 lift ones and go with a ms3 cam or a trex cam.

Thats at 10.1:1 if the heads aren't milled I think.
I would do some research before you just toss some cam with a neat name in. ( not you camcam )
The motor will take a 150 all day with a good tune up, right plug, good afr. You'll be golden.

I ran a tr224. The tuning software is good enough now theirs no reason to run that grind anymore IMO. Drove like glass man just smooth. A 230's would be a good choice. But again it's opinions. Look around make up your mind and pay attentions to who's giving the advice.
Best of luck sir.
