Speed Density tune and nitrous guys come in.... How are you doing it? This is gonna be mostly a street weekend warrior car with a direct port setup and stand alone. Probably be spraying a 200 shot. |
I used an Efilive custom operating system. (COS5) Tune in SD as normal. Add a pin to the pcm that switches to earth when spraying.(J2 pin 56) & calibrate the nitrous tables. One table will adjust the VE to add fuel for a dry shot, another table is utilised to pull timing. Using a stand alone wet system you would only need to populate the timing table. |

By populate, I mean to put values into the nitrous timing table of the custom operating system.(If you went that way) |

I have my own copy of HP tuners and had my tuner make me two tunes. I pretty much know when I am going to spray so I will load in that tune when the time comes. Otherwise I am on my street NA tune. |

COS 5 uses a 2002 LS1/6 Base tune and attaches the custom operating system (tables) to that. If you cant run the 2002 tune on your PCM COS 5 is a no go. I was able to use the 2002 tune w/ my 99 PCM, but I had to paste the matching 99 table values to 02 tables, and had to work around the tables that were different or none existing. Up to 99-04 PCM's should work w/ Cos 5 I believe, LS2/3/7 (1024k+ PCM) Cos 5 will not work. Enough interest @ EFI live and maybe the EFI Live boys will make a COS for the lastest PCM's. Last year I remember asking for a COS for LS2's but I do think that happened. http://www.retrorelics.net/jim/Board...OS5_July09.jpg http://www.retrorelics.net/jim/Board...mingpulled.jpg http://www.retrorelics.net/jim/Board...COSVEmulti.jpg Jim |

the LT1 PCM won't like EFILive very much ;) Yea I probably should have mentioned this was an LT1 car in the title.. |
I have nothing against runing speed dencity but in my opinion you need to be able to stay on top of the tune and understand tuning in order to use it with nitrous. Dave |
dont no if this helps you are not but jeff at thunder tune my street car speed density and we took a wet kit and made it a dry. first thing we done was but a relay from the noids to the pcm and when you hit the kit you can tune the fuel and pull timeing with efilive. it is cool as shit you dont have to get timing tuners are have to have 2 tunes iam ready all the time and going from wet tnt to dry wet as i call it it pick up 28 rwh for more info call jeff at his personal number 1225 751 8500 |
