Default Stupid Solenoid Coil Removal Question

Ok. testin my kit today, found out that n2o noid was not sealing closed when kit was de-actived. had a steady slow leak. So I proceed to disassemble the damn thing, only to find the Coil is Stuck. Every solenoid I've taken apart in the past, the coil just simply slid off with the cap. Not this bastard.... its the big NX n2o noid. I can get it to twist with vice grips but thats it. I have tried prying with screwdriver, vice grips, praying the Gods.... Nothing.... WTF???

hmmm, the only time Ive seen them stuck like that, is after they get over heated, and melt to the tower. Normally they have a generous clearance hole and slip right off like you are used to.

Sounds like the solenoid has been over heated. either you had a bad wiring connection or something is supplying constant voltage to the coil causing it to over heat.

Does the coil smell burned?

Best way is to take the solenoid out of the car and clamp it gently in a vice and drive the coil off the tower.

Leakage is normally caused by trash under the piston but in your case something may be supplying just enough voltage to hold the solenoid open and burn out the coil.

Take and put a voltage light on the wires at the solenoid and see if you are getting power to it when it should not be.
