Question Effects from NGK loose plug tips???

Like the title states:

Yesterday, I sprayed at the track and it surged on the big end for the first time in years, but ran great N/A afterwards. A/F averaged 12.0 the whole nitrous pass, so being rich wasn't an issue.

Today, I pulled the ngk plugs and two were finger loose. I've tightened them with some pliers prior to installing them, but a few have worked themselves loose again. This is not the first time this has happened. Just wondering if the loose plug tips could be the culprit.

This is becoming a pita.. I may just go with some Autolite AR472s and ditch the NGK brand completely.

They are a pain to deal with those threaded ends on the ngk's,i really snug em tight and they haven't worked losse. There a much easier plug to read then the autolites thats why I run'em.

I don't think the loose tips would cause that problem. As much fire that is coming through the coil on plug setup would easily over compensate for the loose tip. I would be looking elsewhere, just my opinion.

.

I don't know what plug you guys use, but my plug has 2 models.
1 has a solid tip & one has screw on.
Everything else is the same, but for whatever reason, they make both styles??

I would think a loose tip could cause a misfire, or keep the car from running it's full potential. What's really mind boggling is not knowing if they came loose before, or after the passes.

I know the new seadoos run the tip removed. I have never had a problem with the tip backing off.
