Default Stock short block ls1 h/c track results

Well I went too a rental today and put down some decent numbers. Quick rundown of the car. Stock short block,234/244 112 lsa cam,Prc 2.5 5.3 heads with ls9 head gaskets and coper spray, heads studs, fast 90/90,kooks 1-3/4" headers, 12 bolt 3.73's spool, th350 ptc 3600ss nitrous converter and a brake, nos 90 mm ls2 plate kit, madman valved da afco's. I made some motor passes on the t brake and it rand like a bag of sh*t. It flashed to about 4k or so and blew the tires off every pass, so the best 60' we got was a 1.78, and unfortunatly I did not make any foot brake passes on motor. I was like **** this trans brake lol. Hit it with the 100 shot foot braking it and it ran a 10.50 at 127 with a 1.5x 60'. I popped my 10 sec cherry and was happy as hell. Threw in the 150 shot and ran 10.31 at 127 with another 1.5 60'. we cam to the conclusion that the converter is very tight because my previous track outing foot braking it was 11.44 at 120 with a 1.68 it was also a cooler day I was only trapping 117 today on motor. I'll try and get pics up soon of slips and plugs. Overall I'm very very happy, we drove 110 miles to the track and back home

9s I think are possible with this jetting I am going to save up for a new converter because this one is very tight. I feel I should be cutting 1.5's foot braking it on motor and it won't even get out of the 1.6's. On the spray I think it should be in the 1.4's at least. No matter what I did the car left like a bag of sh*t and was deffenitly not spinning. My 10.50 pass on a 100 shot was 1.530 and on the 150 shot was 1.547 the mph for the 10.50 was 125 and 127 for the 150. Over all I think I should be a couple mph higher. What do you guys think?

just send the converter back to ptc and tell them to loosen it up they are very good about making the customer satisfied.

I have to call them because I got my trans set up used, so I don't know if they will honor me sending it in for a restall. It would deff save a lot of coin for me.

More jet will loosen it up.

Hit it with more jet first before you say it's bad.

If you're going to be spraying more you want it to be tight, to a point.

My stall for example is fairly loose flash wise on motor, it will go to 4800 on the transbrake in cool weather and 4500 in hot weather.

What's crazy though, is that up to that 4500-4800 stall speed it will go maximum on motor as soon as I hit it with nitrous you would think it would flash into the 6000rpm range. It doesn't. On a 150 shot it only goes 5200-5300. I told them I wanted it to go 5800-5900 on a 250-300 shot and it's looking like they are going to hit that mark perfectly.

It's all in who does the converter. Your converter will be nothing like mine or the next guy. Just find a good converter company which PTC for sure is, and trust them with what you tell them you want out of it.

If you told them you are going to be spraying more than 150 of course it's tight on a 150.

Makes sense what your saying but what would you rather do? Pull tranny, buy another converter, reinstall tranny and hope it works jst to say you did it on a 150 shot. Scenario two, order $20 worth of jets and run 9s next weekend? Just my opinion.....

PTC built my tranny and converter. I can speak miles of good things about them. I have been dealing with them since I bought this car.. Great company..

Well I'm am a noob in the nitrous so I really don't want too just pill it up. I was plug reading at the track, I don't think I want to risk doing it on the street. That really leaves only the track to plug read. I do not have a cage or any other saftey equipment lol. I don't know how I didn't get kicked out of the track no fire Jacket no cage running 10.30's. I'm kind of broke now after needing to buy tires the day before I went to the track. I guess I'm going to do a cage as much as I don't want to. Then at least I can go to a test and tune at least. But untill then I'm dead in the water unless a rental comes up. I wish I had 175-200 jets at the rental I would have prob been one of the fastest cars there running with full race lol. No cage,no jacket, pump gas, no trailer it would have been priceless.

TCT?

I have never heard of them.

Wouldn't be the first time though.

I gave those guys from TCT aka Dynamic Racing Trans a call yesterday and they seemed to be pretty helpful to my situation. I also did a quick search here on tech and a couple guys run them, I did not see any negative feedback from them. If I'm not mistaken I think Atvracer was using one. Fbodyjunkie I can't wait too see what you can this Thursday on the bigger jet. Im going to try and hit up one last rental on June 4th Monday at Atco. I'm pulling from the rail so I'll be stuck at a 200 shot until I can afford a standalone. I just ordered br8ef's and a **** load of jets mostly fuel and a 175/200. Can't wait too see how it leaves on a 175/200 shot, and I really hope the converter loosens up.
