MSD 8969 Window Switch....Not reading correct rpm's.
I just wired in my MSD 8969 Window Switch to spray a 50-75 shot of nitrous to spool up my turbo's. I did not do anything fancy like wire it up to the transbrake or anything. I wired it exactly like it showed for an ECU. The only difference is the the yellow wire to a WOT switch and the other wire on the WOT switch is wired to the nitrous and fuel solonoid. The other nitrous/fuel solonoid wire is wired together and grounded.
Anyways, I turned the power on and the window switch came on. I clicked mode and set the on rpm to 10 (1000rpms), I set the off rpms to 60 (6,000rpms) I then set the cylinders to 1 since I am using a pcm off a 2003 suburban. I only set the on rpms to 10 to test the WOT and see if my test light would come on before hooking it to the nitrous and fuel solonoids. Anyways, the number for rpms said "0" without the car running. Once I fired it up the car said idle was around 30-33. However, when I look at my tach it says right at 950. Now what? I tried turning the power off and back on again and it still shows that I am idling at 3,000-3,300 which I am obviously not.
Thanks, I wanted to race tonight but don't can't set the windows correctly if it isn't reading correctly.

Never mind. MSD tech helped me. It had to be set on 4 cylinder mode. I mis read I guess. I thought I was supposed to set it on 1 cylinder but I guess that is only if you wire directly into a coil pack or something. Anyways, its fixed!
