Light Weight Camaro Nitrous Track Times
I picked this 2002 Camaro up a few months back with a broke 4l60, it sat around then we decided to toss a glide and Neal Chance converter in it that I had from another setup. The converter was speced for a 427, canted valve heads, solid roller, 14:1, 425 shot, you get the idea but I had it. We took the car out for TNT Tuesday night and ran a 10.1@132 on the limiter 6800 rpms, 150 shot. We changed to a 175, bumped the limiter to 7200, and put a little timing in it on the launch. I'll try and get a video up but it can't fall out of a tree out of the hole but what do you expect from a stock bottom end ls1 with this converter. The converter is flashing to 3100 and this is with us spraying it from damn near idle off the foot break. Last night she went
1.45
6.37@110
9.916@138.6
I'm shocked by both runs. The first on Thursday I expected a bottom 11 slip as it just felt so damn slow. We only got 1 run last night as the complete track got oiled bad. The run down on the car is
LS1 shortblock
LS6 heads
LS6 intake
Stock TB
Pac bee hive springs
232/234 camshaft
pacesetter 1.75" headers
Glide
Chance Converter
9" 4.10 gear
275/60/15 MT Radial
Race Weight was 3150
6 pt bar
QA1 singles front
stock rear shocks
UMI TQ arm
We took it to the track the week before and went 11.9@119 na but the tune was so bad we didnt spray it and we haven't ran it na again. I'm temped to toss some tfs225's and vic intake on it along with a converter change but I want to run it at the LSX shootout in BG next month. We will probably pull this longblock out this coming week and install my 417 lsx engine. I knew it would run well being light weight but she still pleasantly suprised me. I also have Afco DA's ready to install along with AMR 2" Headers.

3110 race weight. I also have brakes and windshield on the way to help offset the lsx block going in. We are half tempted to go after the stock bottom end record but I just recently sold the tfs225's and Vic jr. The car just feels so so slow right now. But we have to get to work if we are going to make it to Bowling Green with her. We have our other real street car finally lined out so miss well throw another into the mix.
