Spraying Truck... Got Q's...

I am basicly a N2O newbie but I have been reading up on it in here for a while now. I have aquired all the parts to build myself a custom dry kit. I plan on spraying a 100 shot but I have a few questions....

1.)Bottle mounting options:
Does the bottle have to be at a certain angle? I have stereo equipment behind both of my seats so that is not an option unless I either mount it at a 80-90* angle or completely redo my sub enclosures. I can mount it in the bed but I do not currently have a bed cover I also want to be able to turn it on if the need arises.(cant afford a remote opener right now). Therefore I need some acceptable angles which the 10 lb bottle can be mounted to further explore my mounting possibilities.

2.)Nozzle placement:
I have a K&N genII intake so I need to know the best place to insert the nozzle into my filter to get the best power without freezing my MAFS. Should I use a 90* nozzle and enter the filter through the mesh/gause or use a straight nozzle and go through the metal endcap of the filter? If I go with the 90*, how far from the MASF should I place it? I just dont want to freeze my meter or loose too much N2O spraying out of the filter.

The bottle gas to be mounted with the valve forward and facing up. You can mount it 90* no problem. There is a pickup tube at the very bottom of the bottle angled away from the valve handle (in most cases). If you had to you could remove the valve from the bottle...remove the pickup tube and mount it upside down if that would help you.

As far as nozzle placement,,,I would go for after the filter and atleast 12-14 inches from the MAF. You may be able to get away with putting it closer but if you have the room use it.

Also if you havent seen it before there is a link in my sig on basic nitrous FAQS done by the Colonel way back when he was a nitrous junkie. Good stuff!

The meter is on the backside of the heatshield just after the filter. I only have 9" from the filter endcap to the MAFS. I have been informed by a knowledgable nitrous user in the truck board to just stick it in the endcap of the filter.

Thankyou for your insite and for the link to the FAQ page.

yup, darren, used to post as juiced silverado but has a new name now that i forgot had a dry kit on his truck. he drilled a hole through the metal shield at the end of the k&n filter for his truck and mounted a straight through nozzle to it. worked fine, he ran a 13.2 on et streets with minor mods and a 125shot (ext cab)

im going to be purchasing another nitrous kit for my truck this friday with that sale tbyrne is having. going with the dual stage nitrous express system.

good luck,
bryan

Yea, I remember Darrens truck. I tried to go to his page the othere day and it was only pix of his Vette... Wrecked. I may try to email him later. Thanks Bryan.

BTW... I thought the GP at Tbyrne ended on the 16? Were some great deals in it. I was going to get in on it but got all the parts for my custome dry kit for 275.
