Aeroforce Gauge Sensors Not Sealing 1/8 NPT
 

Hello everyone. I just got done installing my dual aeroforce interceptor gauges. I am also using the optional fuel pressure sensor and nitrous pressure sensor with my setup (both made by aeroforce). My issue is I cannot seem to get the sensors to seal properly (1/8 NPT). I have the fuel pressure sensor screwed into the Nitrous Outlet manifold for my fuel supply hard lines. I went ahead and put blue loctite on the threads (more than I usually do) and made it tighter than I usually do... still it seeps out. I am scared to make it any tighter. At the same time I have never had an issue with a fuel leak on the Nitrous Outlet manifold. When I had my regular generic fuel gauge and 90 degree NPT hooked up, it wouldn't leak even without loctite and it really wasn't very tight either. I would say just a bit past hand snug... zero leaks.

I did the same on the nitrous bottle, and that was laughable. The nitrous just blew out everywhere, not even close to sealing properly. Again didn't want to make the sensor REAL tight. Same story with the nitrous bottle, I had a gauge hooked up to the bottle and never had one single leak. Just a dab of blue loctite and a bit past hand snug. So my question is what is a better way to seal up 1/8 NPT fittings? I am scared to put just any kind of thread sealer on them for fear of clogging the solenoids or some other component of my system. Fittings sealing and used loctite and took care of it

You can use teflon paste. I used it on my nitrous stuff with no worries. Just dont use the teflon tape.

Got to figure that the sensors are just not threaded right. The Chinese can't seem to get a grip on NPT it seems. Had the same problem on a fuel pressure regulator that absolutely nothing would seal....Loctite, teflon, Permatex 2B all eventually would blow out.... until just saying eff it and JB-Welding the fittings in. Later on the manufacturer found that their Chinese plant was cutting the threads wrong. Also unless they're specifially NPT-F (dryseal) there is always a leak path which needs sealant (technically) even though lots of times they don't leak without sealant.

I will try the Teflon paste. Is there a certain brand that holds up better? A fuel leak at the fuel rail is the last thing I need in my engine bay. Thank you everyone.

I used the permatex brand. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.

I emailed aeroforce. I will let everyone know what they say. The kit itself is nice I just can't believe it won't deal properly. I've never had a sealing problem with any part of my system. When I mocked the system up without loctite, even then it sealed up just fine. I just used loctite for extra assurance. Thanks again everyone.

Just got a message back from aeroforce. They suggested using Teflon tape even though in the email I clearly stated that I do not want to use Teflon tape for fear of them clogging the solenoids... Looks like I'll go ahead and try the paste to see what happens. Thanks

Paste won't work as well as loctite or tape

Paste is my go to. If that leaks I'll try tape or loctite

I'll try the paste anyways. The loctite did not work at all.
