We're looking to go 5.0's on a true 10.5 tire with a 406" SBC and 1 kit jetted at 300 @ 3150 lbs. Hopefully we'll go some 4.80's once we add the second kit and make some chassis adjustments.

When I said 'Eh....' I wasn't trying to imply your car was slow.

we ran an sb2 headed 393 for a long time with one kit and IMO that was a killer nitrous motor...i'm quite sure 4.80's is possible with the 406 & 2 kits'll do it...wish i'd bucked up for a liberty & clutch at the time cause that motor loved 8 grand...first time we ran it was with a powerglide & it ran a 5.50 IN LOW GEAR...went thru the traps @ kennedale, saw the time on the board, looked at the shifter, was still in it and it dawned on me..I DIDNT SHIFT INTO HIGH, SHIT...i love hot small blocks...wondered if you were one of my "friends" from south texas...sorry to have poked at you

Looks like a kit that we have on a SBC here at the shop.

Nice set up!!

Bryan TTM Oct 24, 2004 08:24 AM

thanks chris...i have extensive experience with NX & the guys in the back...i like NX...i was just reading the closed thread about NX & the "rail" system & customer service....first off..both those guys are along way from understanding the racing game...get ready, you'll have lots of probs with stuff & if you cant fabricate or understand theory, dont go racing...i've used several systems over the last 10yrs...NX always worked the best...no pop, no sputter, & the only burnt up stuff i had was always my fault as a result of bein a dumbass or tryin to push a tuneup...seen lots of folks burn things cause they think "fat" is safe...uh,uhh...fat lifts ring lands...nitrous tuning has a window...given the motor is properly built for the snot, there are only 3 variables...we always made at least 2 constant & tuned with the 3rd....for guys that think the rail system is bad, why is it on ALL your factory fuel systems?...i know josh, i know em all including Jon Philips...Jon is good people & knows his stuff...most racing parts require abit of knowledge...i call it the "learning curve"...most racers wont tell you much especially when you have the potential to beat them so you gotta learn it the hard way...most manufacturers cant tell you exact because of all the other variables you have & the different combinations...they can get you in the ballpark, you gotta learn the rest...thats where the money & time factor play...wanna go fast, how much you got...know you fellas heard that, its true....i know nitrous...i know NX...i can be a valuable sounding board for anyone with a sincere question....even tho at times me & the guys at NX have had our rounds, i would never hesitate to recommend them...ok, sorry...just get rolling when i hear guys new to the racing biz bangin for little reason...load er up, let er fly

4.80s on a TRUE 10.5 tire is moving!!! :eek2: Almost unbelieveable. Although, a couple of Houston boys have ruled the 10.5 class this year. But they are not close to 5.00s or 4.80s.

I hate rail cars. Real race cars have doors!
My opinion.

Kyle Huttel (SP) and Brandon Dominy have both been 5.00's and 5.1x's.

We're pretty much looking to be able to run with Sam Vincent once this is all said and done.

That's impressive for being in low gear. LOL. Speaking of high-winding SBC's on dope, do you know who Jeff Naiser is? He went a 4.660 @ 164 with a SBC, 2 Kits, and a Liberty @ 3000 LBS.

Bryan TTM Oct 24, 2004 01:49 PM

yep...naiser is the man in sbc...has been for awhile...glad he's wearin the 10.5er's out...especially the ones from dallas that gerrymandered the vote for 10.5's in king of the hill...i hope jeff busts koth ass forever
