New Nitrous Best at Thunder's ShootOut-Almost 9's All new personal bests. Thanks to Paul, Angie and the track staff. Great track. My biggest thanks goes to MadMan (Brian). His "fine" tuning of my suspension was the whole story. DA was NOT that great - 1000' was the norm. I dropped almost 1 full tenth in 60'. THANKS AGAIN BRIAN  Old Times - 60' 1.44; 1/4 10.49 best mph 129. New times - 60' 1.356; 1/8 6.371 at 106.96; 1/4 10.082 at 132.26 Missed my 9 second slip but had a great time. Oh yea, this is still stock bottom end - heads/cam only - and a little baby shot. Met some really nice people. congrats! :hail: |
Great job. |
Nice run David, I updated you on the New Nitrous list yesterday as well. Now for me to get some heads and dial my puppy in. |
Thanks guys. My only wish was that the SS only weighed 3200 vice the present 3553. Over the winter the SS goes on a diet. Next year it will 9's :) David |
How much stall you running and Trans Braked or no? Thanks. Good luck on the diet. Mine weighs about 3450 with me, need a trimming on the car also. |
Off a transbrake and 2-step. 4200 stall. I use the 2-step (tied into the T/B) to keep the nitrous de-activated until the T/B is release. Just posted on the nitrous list also. I appreciate your time in trying to keep that up. I would assume you are kept busy over there. Good luck and keep your head down. DAvid |
nice job man,cong.!! |
Thanks The 60' was more than a kick. Once I loose the 300 lbs I'm looking for 1.2 should not be out of the question. David |

I will be also changing tires to the Hoosier Drag radials. It was shown at the Shoot Out that can lower your 60' and 1/4 time. David I hadnt heard about these hoosier radials tell me more :) |

Way to go david. Im sure you will get your 9second run next year. |
Nice run. It feels good running the bottle. Are cars are like twins in the weight class. Im in the same boat trying to diet the car and lose three hundred pounds. I just don't want to lose that stock appearing interior from the car. My car still has stock front suspenion that is my goal for the winter is to change the k member shocks a arms manual rack and abunch of misc stuff. It sucks the season is over for me (bad weather) almost nines for me but last time at the track we made three passes in between rain showers and 30mph headwind first time on the bottle to. |
It hurts to cut up on the SS. That is why it still weighs 3500. I am going to do the A-arms, k-members, ABS delete, smaller battery, steering wheel, air bags, wiper blades/motors, and some other stuff over the winter. The SS doesn't see the street any more. It do miss that part. I'll be switching out to a light weight hood. I found a hood (only about 20 lbs - in on) that took very much like my Ultra Z hood. I think 200 shot will be the largest on this stock block. Up here during the summer 3000' DA is the norm. Maybe I'll get a break :) David |
Fanastic, I'm sure you will have that 9s in no time at all. :thumb: |
Thanks. Hopefully all the mods can be completed to make the Atlanta run in April. David |
