Cant wait to watch new GTO's first track run
 

Ok, this Army guy just gets back from Iraq, buys a new 04 GTO (might be 05, but not sure). Immediately goes to a shop to have a NOS Direct Port Nitrous kit put on jetted for 150. Stock fuel pump, stock plugs, stock tune, stock fricken everything and oh BTW he is mounting slicks too! This should be a fun night when he finally runs I plan to video this thing, I can just see pieces will be laying all over the track... Just wanted to share with you all.

auto or 6 speed?

no one gonna mention what he SHOULD do, just to help out a fellow American? especially a ls1 owner? :( make sure you get video! haha

he should get a set of TR6's gapped at .038
he should put in a Walboro FP
He should get a timing tuner to pull itming and act as rpm window switch...

I predict his engine will take a LOT of timing out via KR, and he will be running pig rich, and may get some backfire and will make the plugs look bad...

The stock platnum plugs may make 1 pass anyways.

I'm with SDB about the suggestions, but I have to disagree with you Dave...It'll make 1 1/2 passes before something lets go :bomb: I gotta see this!

You should video yourself walking up and telling the guy what he should do before he blows his car up. Then we would get to here his uneducated response before he blows his motor down the track!:D

I havent met the guy yet, I only know the shop working on his DP setup. They tried to tell him about the tuning, clutch, IRS, Plugs, and much more, but he was insisting that its only a 150shot and there was nothing to worry about since its a DP and not a single fogger. I am wanting video of this guy running it too, I asked to shop to call me once its all ready to hit the track, possibly this next weeekend. I will definately post up the results.

SO what happen almost two months ago did it blow or what?

Update:

I happened to be at the track the following w/e and he was there, already at the staging lane so it was too late to advise him of anything. He ran a 13.84 or something. He came to the pits and I introduced myself and commented on his good NA run, then he mentioned it wasnt NA, it was on juice! WTF! So, I informed him I had seen his car at a local shop, and thought he was either stupid, ballsier than I am, or both with lots of money. He apparentely jetted to 100shot. Setup looks nice I'll say that. Glad he rethought the jetting too. I gave him my number pointed him to this site, and LS2.com (only site I know for LS2's) and offered to tune and assist.

I know, nothing spectacular, but at least he got smart instead of forged!
