what's a good a/f to be at when spraying?

I've heard anywhere from 12.0-14.0, just depending you you're talking to. What's a good, safe a/f? thanks--andy

14.0 :eek2: thats to damn lean even for a N/A motor. Right now im at 13.0 and sometimes run into minor octane related problems.

I always run 11.0-11.5 to be relativly safe. I don't think I would ever set the car up to run past 12.0 on the bottle.

I also shoot for a flat 11.0 It also depends on how much your spraying IMHO
if your only blowing a 100 shot then you would be OK with a 12.0 I would definately stay at or below 12.0

We tune most of our Nitrous cars around 11.8 to 12.1.In some casses we will go as high as 12.5.Depending on the customer.

So whats the real danger in the higher AF numbers besides obviously leaning out!!?? Is it more for insurance if the pump or injector or something fuel related fails!!??

The leaner a/f's will pound your motor into a paper weight. I set mine up currently at 11.5/11.8 depending on rpm and torque.

I run 11-11.5
