Nitrous install on Horsepower TV Looks like they are doing a nitrous install on an LS1 on spike tv's horsepower tv today at 12:30pm. Im new to nitrous so hopefully this will help out. Its a good show regardless. Here is their site |
it was pretty good, showed the difference between wet and dry |
Is that the one where they install the NOS 5177dry kit? If so, I have link to the video in my web site. :) |
it's an Edelbrock kit. |
got a whole whopping 42 rwhp with an 80 shot and 79 rwhp with 125 hp jetting! I can't wait to get rid of my NX kit and get me an Edelbrock kit! :eyes: |
ouch! Not to toot my own horn, but I am the head mech on Vic Edelbrock's new mega yacht (1xx ft). Bought some of his stuff for my Harley and am happy. :) |
Edelbrock has some nice stuff, and I am a fan, but apparently their nitrous kits could use some more R&D. |
Yeah, it surprised me with how low the numbers were. Was nice to see they actually put some decent parts on(FAST intake, H/C) though. |

h.p.t.v. ls-1 car sucks! haha yea... well i don't think they put together a really good package altogether... they only got 368rwhp out of a h/c six speed car w/ a stock 10 bolt. my guess is they have low compression pistons in it becuase they're planning on putting a charger on it. but still... low numbers for what it is. we'll see when they put the boost to it. that n2o kit was pretty dissapointing. |

i saw it. a head and camed car making that low #'s on a dynojet with a 10bolt,i was shocked. i think they used slp's h&C package. glad i went with afr's :jest: |

it was definitely a Crane cam, not sure about the heads though. |
i think they were just ported heads...nothin crazy...there still oldschool :) |
yea i think w2w ported the heads and it was a crane cam. the handheld programmer certainly werent helping the numbers a great deal either. |

flywheel numbers = better business from people who don't know any better |
All they said was that the heads were "CNC Ported". I think it is cool that they have LS1 mods on TV & I enjoy watching them.... They also did a nitrous works wet kit on an ls1 not too long ago. Their 100 shot gave them 86 hp to the wheels. |
yea... i think w2w sent the stock heads through a cnc machine, crane cam but i don't remember getting specs. it sounded like it had a small lump to it when they started it up. but we all know that just cause a cam's lumpy doesn't mean it makes power... point in case! but yea, i love seeing ls-1 mods on t.v. that's like my wet dream :) |
