My doesn't like nitrous anymore!

10FEB06

Runs on motor, stock timing, shift points at 6800, rev-limiter 7300

1.737 7.540 92.39 11.799 115.75
1.670 7.437 92.39 11.697 115.67
1.608 7.327 93.76 11.551 116.25
1.561 7.225 94.27 11.420 117.16

100 shot, no change to tune, tapping rev-limiter on 2nd to 3rd gear shift
1.544 6.875 100.44 10.802 125.06

150 shot, timing 23*, shift points 6250,
1.559 6.857 101.55 10.738 126.33 2-3 shift slipping hitting rev-limiter
1.573 6.891 101.12 10.775 126.28 same

11FEB06
Put skinnies on the front and unbolted/removed rear section of catback
N/A stock timing shift points 6800
1.614 7.256 94.56 11.424 118.05
1.621 7.226 94.96 11.368 119.00
1.577 7.193 95.50 11.332 118.97

150 shot empty bottle: 23*, 1-2 6000, 2-3 5700 still hitting rev-limiter
1.564 6.937 99.12 10.921 122.95

75 shot full bottle, same tune?
1.583 7.065 97.62 11.088 122.26

Do you guy think it's the Yank SS 4000, 2.6 STR being to big for nitrous or the trans just not handling the nitrous?

I have a Fuddle 3200-3400 stall speed, 2.1 str, approx shift extention of 4200-4500 waiting to be installed.

Do you think this will solve my problem

Thanks
Andrew

Your tune is probably too conservative.
Post your timing curve and AFR while on the bottle.

Converter slip behind high torque is also common, but you're losing a lot by 1/8 mile too which makes me think a lot of it is in the tune.
You also cannot judge run to run unless the bottle is full and equal pressure for each run.
Try it again at 150 shot with a full bottle and don't be so scared on the tune.

I have a similar problem on 2-3 shift and I'm told it is the clutch packs and that it is rebuilt time. 1 tranny / year, 4L60E is a pos (and this is a stage 4).

I really don't think it's the tuning, I just think the clutches or the converter is the problem :bang:

It's definately not the verter, i'm running the Yank SS4000E too and hittin her with a 300 shot and she's handling it perfect, very good nitrous verter, tight and efficient.
