Default Can you put the gauge on the HSW bottle if its full?

I was at my friends shop yesterday, and got my bottle filled, but I didn't put the gauge on the bottle yet. Can I put the gauge on the bottle, or does the valve not block off the gauge port?

Nope, the bottle has to be empty to install the pressure guage. Run that bottle down and then install the pressure gauge before you re fill it.

Hmm. I put a pressure gauge on my bottle while it was full. What is the difference?

Some of the older type bottles have the gauge port after the bottle valve, so you have to have bottle open to see pressure. New style is better, for gauges and transducers.

Thanks for explaining. It figures that I buy a new kit and have the older style valve. I'll live with it I guess but sure wish the thing was up to date....
