I've got some questions about my setup, I was hosing her down and my dip stick came up and poor alittle oil out the other nite! It sounded fine after so I kept running it and sprayed it alittle more that nite. No noise or i should say it's doing fine i think but is these bad? I talk to some friends and they said it was just the Crank case venting and to hold and dip stick down secure some how. :confused:

Any opinions?

I know a lot of guys running forced inductions make a little oil catch can for their cars I guess all the boost adds pressure to the crank ventelation system. Even N/A LS1's are known for having a little blow by, a few of my friends have even made their own oil catch cans. Still on my list of things to do to mine.

How does this work and hooks where? What about the dip stick hold it down how?

The catch can mod will just keep the oil from recirculating back into the intake. If you want to get the crank pressure down and keep from blowing the dipstick you might want to look at getting a crank breather to go on the valve cover (this will help bring the pressure down). Thunder racing sells a nice setup but you might find a cheaper alternative, I know a few guys have rigged up a "Mr gasket" valve cover breather made for 1st gen SBC's.

I had the DS popup issue on the stock bottom, the rings are quite a bit tighter than on a nitrous hog engine. I used a velcro loop to ensure the DS wouldn't go to far and said fagettaboutit. No issues. I avoided the vc breather as mentioned above, because the vent tends to make a mess under the hood sometimes.

What about a LS6 style pcv system?

I'll try some velcro but its not a stock bottom end. Its got the stock crank and rods but with Arp rods bolts and forged pistons.
