well i'm glad i tore her down after countless bottles a couple 300 hits 25+ bottles on a 200+hit most on pumpgas and 150+ bottles through this motor i decided to go to a FI route.. we pulled off the old patriot 5.3's and i was just beginning to push the headgasket out between the front 2 cyls on the drivers side.. i'm glad i pulled it apart now.. i think the heads were starting to left being that they were OEM headbolts.. i tell you what the motor is CLEAN as hell inside.. minimal carbon build up however my exhaust valves are white.. the plugs look great the wideband never showed lean.. but the ex valves are white.. but all in all i'm extremely impressed.. 698rwhp OEM headbolts OEM injectors OEM headgaskets stock bottomend and she lives.. guess will see how much boost the already pushed stock bottom end will hold now.. Nice testimony to how N2o will destroy a motor... NOT. Is the white on the valves from running lean.. or additives? I would think that if it were lean enough to make them visibly white, they wouldn't seal anymore. Additives will build up and look like that though. |
nice to know ! |

looks like i convinced u just in time, lol.screw a forged SB lets find out how much boost she'll take and leave on the transbrake with  how get that turbo in and those heads and lets get to work. |
Mine were all white also and i never went lean. I think that is totally normal on a n20 engine. Go ls1. |
