What would it take to make a ls based z28 trap mid 140's?

Car is a 1998-2001 z28 m6 camaro. Setup would have to been a dd setup and trap mid 140's all out {ie race gas weekend fun}. What would be a good setup or what would it take? 408 with 2 stages or 427 with 2 stages? What would the motor setup have to be? My guess is a h/c 402 that makes enough power to run high 120's na and a 2 stage 150/100 but what do you think? what is a sound setup? If this was your goal how would you build it? The car would not be track proven I am a roll racer but I want to be able to run bikes that fast.

408 will do the same as the 427, pretty much, at a way lower cost.

my 402 runs 125 to 127 n/a at around 10.5 every trip out, 150 shot got it to 9.61 and a best mph of 139.2. I think for what you want to do, you will want 2 stages because of possible traction issues, I assume you have a M6 in the car as well.

I'd put a simple Nos plate on a 402/408 motor and start with a 100 shot there, and if that's not enough try the 150, if that still doesn't get you where you want to be, then look @ using the plate as a first stage and put a directport on the car and bring that in 1/2 a second after the first kit with a time based controller, and spray another 100 thru the directport.

Or if you want alot of solenoid maintenance, do a directport with a progressive setup, but that progressive setup will hammer the noids hard, personally I don't like them.

Whatever you do, don't try to spray more then 150 thru anything other then a directport, the distribution just isn't there. And please get a standalone and put GOOD fuel in for when you're spraying, I assume you are running on pump gas if it's a street car. I knwo the fuel's expensive and alot of people on here will tell you it's not needed, but a 5 gallon pail of Torco 118Nos fuel is about 60 bucks where I live, expensive yes, but 5 gallons will last a long time, just keep the fuel in a cool, dry place and leave it VERY VERY well sealed up and it will be o.k. for a while. A good safety measure that I can't understand why more people won't take.

My bone stock (bottom end) with H/C LS1 in my mustang runs 141 with a 200shot.
3.73 gears and a 6 speed.

im a big fan of the alum ls2 motor done up in the 402 form, i put one to the test and it worked, and jl is doing the same, and you save tons of weight, for straight race the lsx block is it, but for 140's ls2 402 with some giggle gassssss

Who needs a 427 or a 402 ? :secret2:

JL .... I ran 9.6's at the pump gas drags 2 years ago. You dont have to run race gas on a 150-200 shot but it is a little safer.

It's one things Wayne when you're doing it because you have to or the pump gas drags or prepping for that event, in his case there are no rules, and someone that isn't real experienced with nitrous should take every precaution they can especially at the beginning IMO.

I agree, not needed, but it's certainly not a bad idea.

I'd say add a 200 shot to a 10.9 car.
