Jr comes home

Don't worry next week he'll admit to steroid use and the party will be over. J/K. He's actually one of the players I really like too and I'll finally get to see him play.

Too cool, can't wait.
I admit I don't think he'll add too much to the team like he would have 10 years ago but the nostalgic factor will sell a lot of seats at Safeco. We made it out to the Reds game when he came in 2007 ... full house and everyone applauded him every at bat.
I know he wanted to retire a Red, but nice to see him possibly go out as a Mariner. Hopefully having some star power on the team will create some inspiration for everyone else to step up their game.

.. Well ya! But who gives a crap. I'm a life long Red Sox fan and Jr was my favorite player not in a Red Sox uniform. I'll go to a few games just to see him in a Mariners uniform again. Might even buy a jersey. Best player in the game for 10 years straight. It would be nice if his dad could base coach for a couple games as well. This is his farewell tour, no one dislikes the man in any stadium, one of the classiest players to ever play the game.

Not to be the ******* of the group, but don't get your hopes up fellas. It's the same **** every year with them. When they suck they suck and when they are good they end up sucking in the end Don't get me wrong I've been a fan for a long time and wish them the best!
A couple years ago the guy sitting in front of me got so hammered out he on some poor Chinaman next to him. 60% beer and 40% garlic fries...damn them garlic fries are good

Yeah but what we are saying is.... How long will that last?
I hate when teams do this... Because it shows the fans that they are just in this for the money, and not the wins...
The fans want to see the big W... Not a guy who is on his downward slope of his great career.

I think it will be one year two at the max, I didnt see the details of the contract so I'm not real sure on the terms yet.
Sometimes baseball isn't about winning. Lets face it the Mariners arent going anywhere this year but it can still be a good year and they need those ticket sales or it will be the OKC Mariners... LOL
I remember a lot of bad years with the Sox but we always loved to go to the games.

It's one year, at 2 million dollars salary. The guy is a Mariner great, regardless of how good he is now. He'll make a good DH and isn't too bad out left. He's here to play and retire where he had his best days, baseball doesn't have ringers, just ask the Giants.
